Drivers License Retesting
Driving itself is not a scary thing at all. The thing that is scary though is everyone else who is on the road with you! The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation wants senior drivers to maintain their ability to drive but in a very safe way. There are a few tests that they randomly select people over the age of 45 to take each month to make sure that they are not a danger on the road. The first test is the vision test. PennDOT randomly chooses 1650 people to take a vision test. They have to have a vision of at least 20/40 in at least one eye with or without glasses. A vision specialist will perform a full vision examination and assess whether your eyesight permits you to dive safely. The next test is the medical examination. The main medical examination is the seizure history. Drivers should be seizure-free for at least 6 months before being allowed to drive again.
